2025 Mayfest Art Show Call for Submissions
Mayfest Art Show will be held on May 9th and 10th, at the Senior Center, located at 4 North Spring Street.
JUROR: Beverly Schonoff
ARTIST DROP OFF TIME: Friday, May 9th 3 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
PUBLIC VIEWING OF SHOW: May 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Jurors are to have selections made by 10 a.m.
All artists cannot pick up artwork early. Show takedown will not start until AFTER the award ceremony. We will NOT be taking down the show before the award ceremony
AWARD CEREMONY: Saturday, May 10th at 3:15 p.m. Winners will be contacted via phone.
ARTIST PICK UP ART TIME: Saturday, May 10th 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
CATEGORIES: The show will have the following categories, and each category will have a kid (up to 11), youth (12 – 18), and adult (19+) groups:
Category 1- 2D Art (Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media, Photography, and illustration)
Category 2- 3D Art (fiber, ceramics metals, glass, wood, basketry, quilting, jewelry)
Category 3- Graphic Design (Branding, packaging, publication, typography, UX/UI, Posters, Advertising)
· Graphic design age groups are (18+ OR school teacher can get permission for student to enter if they are in high school)
· If Students are affected by the Spring Tornado and still want to add something to the show, they can do so by presenting a SCHOOL ID and a $5 submission fee.
· Art Teachers can submit 5 pieces from students at NO COST. It is preferred that teachers drop off student works however, teachers can give PCCA students information, and the student will have to drop off and pick up artwork.

INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS
Entry fee: $ 5 for supporters and $10 for non-supporters, for each item entered. Fees are due at time of application and are not refundable. An artist can submit as many pieces of art as they would like. Save $5 by becoming an annual supporter at www.perrycountycreativearts.org/become-a-supporter.
Art instructors who teach within Perry County can select 5 pieces of their students to enter the show at no cost. The way the teacher selects artwork is entirely up to the teacher. PCCA does not have any responsibility in this process. \
All accepted entries must be exhibit-ready and equipped for exhibiting and handling. No frames with exposed glass edges will be accepted.
** IMPORTANT: All Category 1 and category 3 art must be ready to be hung for display with picture wire if framed or heavy. If artwork is not submitted this way, it will not be included in the show. We prefer you not have sawtooth picture hanger on back. PLEASE use wire. Ask if you have any questions. **
Size requirements must be observed. **IMPORTANT** Maximum size (category 1 and 3) including frame not to exceed 40" horizontally and or vertically. Maximum size (category 2) not to exceed 5 feet in height. Maximum weight (categories 1 & 2) not to exceed 45 lbs.**
All work must be original, designed and executed within the last two years. “Original” means that the work must be from the hand of a single artist who submits the work for entry. Pieces that originate from a workshop or a class under the direction of a teacher are not eligible. No copies or work done from commercially prepared kits or molds are eligible.
No entry of a fragile nature shall be accepted, such as unfired ceramic or plaster. All entries will be moved by volunteers from the judging area to the exhibit space and/or to a designated pickup area.
LIABILITY
Although every precaution will be taken to protect all art on display, Perry County Creative Arts will assume no responsibility for loss due to fire, weather, theft, or damage which might be sustained. Perry County Creative Arts disclaims responsibility for any entry not claimed after the awards ceremony Saturday, May 10th at 5:30 P.M. Any artwork will then belong to Perry County Creative Arts.
ENTRY GUIDELINES
Entry payment can be done by cash or check. If a check is written, please write it out to Perry County Creative Arts.
